Steering Angle Resets
The steering angle sensor (SAS) is a key component of vehicle stability systems. It measures the steering wheel’s rotation angle and direction, providing crucial data for electronic stability control, traction control, and lane-keeping systems. Misalignment, even by a few degrees, can prevent these systems from responding correctly.
Steering angle resets are performed after wheel alignments, suspension repairs, steering column replacements, or after collision repairs. We follow OEM procedures to ensure the sensor is correctly zeroed and fully synchronized with the vehicle’s systems. This is critical for vehicles equipped with ADAS features, as even minor misalignment can affect safety alerts and automated steering corrections.
Why it’s important:
Without a correct reset, stability systems may react incorrectly, potentially causing unsafe driving conditions. Performing the reset ensures the vehicle’s dynamic systems respond as intended, protecting the driver and passengers.
